COASTLINE NORTH-EAST TO SOUTH-WEST OF TINTAGEL

Bude is only 17 miles away. This attractive, small coastal town has two beaches and a canal. Boats can be hired to explore the latter.

Widemouth is the next coastal village south. It can be reached from Bude via the Coast Path. Then cut inland to return to Bude along the Canal.

Further south is Crackington Haven, and beyond this, Cambeak. The cliffs reach their highest point in Cornwall here.

Boscastle is 3 miles along from Tintagel. It can be reached from the cottage via the Coast Path, possibly returning via the 584 bus. This is an interesting village to explore.

Bossiney is the nearest beach to Lilac Cottage, just a mile away. There is not much surf on this beach - and no life guards or facilities - but there are several interesting caves to explore

The next proper village west of Tintagel is Port Isaac

Along the Coast path from Port Isaac is the hamlet of Port Quin. This stretch of coastline has many ascents and descents.

Padstow is a small coastal town with an attractive harbour. It can be reached by passenger ferry from Rock or via the Camel Trail from Wadebridge. It can also be reached by road via Wadebridge.

Harlyn Bay, just past Padstow, has a fine, wide beach and car-park. This picture looks over to Trevose Head, which is easily reached via the Coast Path

Further west, past Trevose Head, is Constantine Bay. After this the coast runs south, past many surfing beaches, towards Newquay
