Getting to Lilac Cottage, Trenale, Tintagel, Cornwall PL34 0HP

By road

The fastest route (from Bristol and further north/east) is the M5 to Exeter then the dual-carriageway A30 to Okehampton and Launceston. Turn off just after Launceston on the A395. Turn off right, 1.5 miles after Hallworthy, following signs to Tintagel. Turn left then almost immediately right over the A39. After two miles, cross over the B3266. Two miles further on, as the drop steepens and the hedges rise, at a minor cross-roads, turn left for Trenale. This hamlet is half a mile from Tintagel. Lilac Cottage faces the 'telephone box triangle' in the centre of the hamlet.
